A mola is a colorful fabric panel of Central American origin, sewn with a reverse-appliqué technique. Several layers (usually two to seven) of different-coloured cloth (usually cotton) are sewn together; the design is then formed by cutting parts of each layer away.

The sea-life designs come in two sizes:

• small 4-5 "
• medium 6-7"
